Can a Technologist take the Clinician Bone Densitometry Course?
It is recommended that a technologist take the Technologist Course first. However, ISCD will allow a technologist to take the Clinician Course if gaining information about interpreting DXA scans would assist a technologist with job responsibilities.
Can I take a Bone Densitometry course without taking the exam?
Yes.
Though most attendees do take the course prior to taking the exam, it is not a requirement.
Where can I get information about state requirements for DXA technologists?
The ISCD course requires that I have done 100 DXA scans prior to taking the Bone Densitometry Course. Do I need to bring the scans with me to the course?
No. There is an attestation on the registration document that your supervisor must sign stating that you have performed the 100 DXA scans prior to attending the course.
