ISCD’s education courses and certification exams are the world-recognized quality standard in the field of skeletal assessment. The ISCD is now providing education courses and certification exams to countries outside the United States at very low cost.  This will help local organizing committees to better budget for the state-of-the-art ISCD Clinician and Technologist Bone Densitometry Courses. It also enables ISCD to fulfill its mission of advancing excellence in the assessment of skeletal health.  ISCD benefits greatly from the interactions with international colleagues who share our interest in skeletal assessment.

In addition, ISCD has endorsed utilizing local or regional guest faculty. Use of local expert faculty fosters regional advancement of excellence in skeletal health assessment and facilitates cost-effective delivery of these courses.

The ISCD education courses and certification exams are regularly revised to ensure our education and credentialing programs continue to meet the highest standards. ISCD certification provides assurance to patients, payers and the healthcare community that a certified professional has achieved a high level of competence.

ISCD educational programs incorporate the latest information available from the world’s literature and ISCD Position Development Conferences. In this manner, ISCD is helping both clinicians and technologists achieve ISCD’s mission to provide excellence in skeletal health assessment worldwide. Consistent with this, the ISCD has:

  • Certified over 11,000 clinicians and technologists worldwide
  • Conducted 12 courses at international venues in 2007 and currently have 25 courses scheduled in 2008. Please visit Upcoming Courses for locations.
  • Translated course materials into Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Romanian, and Polish
  • Trained instructors from more than 14 countries and encourages local experts to become guest faculty (Click here for a list of our international full faculty members)
  • Developed a remote certification program reducing the need for travel to take the Certification Exam

We encourage local organizing committees to contact us at education@iscd.org for further information regarding this opportunity.

You may also use the course application form in order to indicate your expression of interest.
