Body Composition Course
The International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD)provides comprehensive educational courses in bone densitometry and offers certification for those who perform DXA scans and interpret the results.
The ISCD Body Composition Course will educate healthcare professionals to successfully use DXA body composition analysis in the management of obesity, geriatric sarcopenia and other low muscle mass states, general health and pediatric skeletal disease. This half-day educational activity is directed toward clinicians, technologists, researchers, scientists, and healthcare providers who wish to learn the skills and techniques of quality DXA body composition analysis to implement in their practice.
Course Objectives
After attending the course, participants will be better prepared to:
- Utilize body composition analysis to assess and manage obesity and sarcopenia in adult or pediatric patients
- Recognize the clinical utility of DXA to assess body composition in adult or pediatric patients
- Evaluate different methods of body composition analysis to ensure optimum assessment for adult or pediatric patients

Credit Designation
The International Society for Clinical Densitometry designates this educational activity for a maximum of 4.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should only claim credits commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
