ISCD Certification Exam Results Security Policy
The International Society for Bone Densitometry (ISCD) maintains all records concerning applicants and certified individuals participating in the Certified Bone Densitometry Technologist (CBDT™), Certified Technologist in Densitometry (CTD®) and Certified Clinician in Densitometry (CCD®) programs.
Confidential Information
The nature, format, content and results of examinations administered by the International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD) and all application materials are considered confidential and privileged information and will be treated as such in accordance with policies and procedures adopted by the ISCD, unless appropriate permission is obtained or where otherwise required by law. Information on whether or not an applicant has applied for the certification exam will also not be revealed. No personal information on a candidate or certificant will be revealed unless permission is granted by the individual. The ISCD certification staff and its testing agency are the only individuals allowed access to the certification files.
Further, the ISCD and its testing agency stores, processes, and uses data collected from application forms and test score reports. Data is stored only to the extent necessary for processing and validating applications/examination scores and in compliance with related record retention regulations. Under no circumstances will individual data or test scores be shared with any entity outside of the ISCD and its testing agency, unless permission is obtained from the candidate or certificate holder or unless otherwise required by law. Candidate test scores are not released by telephone or electronically, but only in written form as an official ISCD document. The ISCD may develop and publish statistical data regarding the exams provided that the identities of the candidates are not divulged.
Information Disclosure
In order to protect the confidentiality of candidate records, information about candidates and their examination results will be only be released to third parties with the written consent of the candidates or when required by law:
- Upon the written or oral request of a third party, the ISCD will verify current certification status, certification number, the date of initial or recertification and certification expiration date of a certificate holder.
- ISCD will release certification examination results to state licensing agencies, if requested.
- ISCD will disclose information that is required to be in compliance with state and federal laws, court orders and military deployment information requirements.
- Any additional information requested by a third party will be released only after certificate holder’s signed authorization.
