Legislative Alert
The ISCD needs your help today. The Medicare reimbursement for DXA performed in the physician’s office was cut by 40% as of January 1, 2007 and will be reduced by 75% by 2010. VFA will be cut by 50% by 2010. Please contact your U.S. Senators and Representative about this issue and ask them to take the following two actions:
| 1. |
Sign on as a co-sponsor* to H. R. 1293 (The Access to Medicare Imaging Act of 2007) or the companion bill when it is introduced in the Senate; and |
| 2. |
Support legislation that will freeze Medicare physician reimbursement for DXA and VFA at 2006 levels |
| |
|
| |
*To determine if your representative has already signed on as a co-sponsor to H.R. 1293, view the listing here. |
Please call, e-mail, fax or set up an appointment to talk to your United States Representative or Senator when he/she is home in your district. Remember that a personal message from a constituent is far more persuasive than a form letter. Below are materials to help you deliver the message that patient care is suffering as the result of the reimbursement cuts.
