Patient History:
88 year old Caucasian female with marked kyphosis. No previous DXA for comparison. She has had bilateral hip replacements for RA. Forearms unsuitable for scanning due to surgical hardware from surgeries related to RA. Patient presents with a printout of her spine scan with pacemaker leads over L1. The scan was performed on a Hologic Discovery W at another institution.




  1. How would you calculate the BMD for L2-L4 from the information above?
