  • DXA Technical Issues (indications in men, perimenopause, high BMD)
  • QCT and pQCT (diagnosis, monitoring, interpretation, reporting,  quality control)
  • pDXA (diagnosis, monitoring, interpretation, reporting, quality control)
  • QUS (diagnosis, monitoring, interpretation, reporting, quality control)

The ISCD’s 2007 Official Positions have received the endorsement of:

  • the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE)
  • the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR)
  • The Endocrine Society (TES)
  • the North American Menopause Society (NAMS) (endorsement of sections pertaining to the menopausal woman)
  • National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF) (*see footnote below)

* NOF has endorsed FRAX™ which incorporates a single reference population, the NHANES III female Caucasian database, for assessing 10 year absolute fracture risk in both genders. NOF believes more data are required in order to determine whether a single, female Caucasian reference database should be used for diagnostic T-score determinations in both genders or whether the male reference database is the preferred database for diagnostic purposes in men.
